Literature Text

Shores crumble before the storm
The grains of sand shipped away
Another beach they'll form
On this shore they won't stay

Far away they will gather
Maybe together, maybe alone
On which shore doesn't matter
Where away they will be blown

The wind takes the grains
Holds them tight, caries far
Blows them upon new planes
Their resting places they are

Buried by kindred sand
A river cuts through
Where now trees stand
The grain moves to the blue

Again they travel in the sea
Caught up in roaring waves
To where they always flee
Before they sink to graves

All together in one pack
Formed into a sandstone
Very tightly they all stack
Into a deep to us unknown

Deep, deep, pressure and hot
The grains now something new
Their old form they forgot
Into a hard stone they grew

Now to the surface they come
Up they go, mountains form
Again they've felt the sun
Slowly they cool to warm

They cool, they warm, they cool
Slowly they come apart
It's the elements that rule
The time for a new start

The river flows, it takes
Grains alone, grains together
Some of the stone flakes
Mountains slowly weather

The sand grains move to the sea
Wash upon a distant shore
A part of the journey it will be
and always there will be more
The first line got me started, seems like my brain followed suit by giving a lesson in Earth Science. Although my heart was set for something else first. Hope you enjoy.
