You see the scars of his eye
the knife took it away.

He saw the bully coming
when he looked in the mirror.

He didn't receive, only gave.
one hurtful comment after another

He didn't know when to stop
even when the bullied snapped

"I can't see the world as I should,
so neither will you do ever again!"

He took an eye for an eye
finally, he understood

For his eye it was to late,
the scars run deep inside.

The Bus Stop Dialogues

I. A young man at the bus stop turns to me and softly asks "Why aren't you wearing shoes?" He taps the faded leather of his suedo-skin and his eyes smile in a gentle lilt before his mouth does.
