Cover me softly
blanket of white
hide me from above
so they will not see
what the world
has done to me

so they can ignore
their fault in this
let them look away
afraid for what is
underneath my blanket
of untouched white

let them wonder
what they have done
to the thing
now covered
under a blanket
oh so very white
This could be a deceased person, the earth covered in snow or about so much else.

For some reason it reminded me of anorexia. The "I want to disappear" mentality could relate

It also reminds me of agoraphobia. Here's a song that describes it if you're interested. [link]

Sorry I'm getting so analytical but I really like this poem haha

I'm just glad to see you really like this poem.

Both mentalities could relate to it. It's a part of being afraid to the world and what they might think at the reaction to it that the world has done the damage.

First thought was a deceased person from a hit and run... is that bad? Nice poem.

No, it's just a possibility of the person who says this poem.

And thank you.

the title told me snow but from that point on I saw just a recently deceased person...either way it's very well written!

Thank you very much.

I started the poem with the intention of a snow covered earth, but somehow it turned into something else too.

This really does have several interpretations, but I think they're all focused on a person. Absolutely a deceased one as you say in your an, but it also could read as someone wishing for death or an escape (like a little kid hiding under the covers).
If you want to extend the meaning to a snow-covered world, consider changing the ending of the first stanza. It really makes that interpretation a little strange.

Yes, unless you read that as part as if 'mother earth' would say it and the world is us the people.

True! I didn't think of it that way.

If you don't mind, I'ma just say that this is worded in such a way that it's easy to take a literal meaning for it.
BUT! Being the over-thinker, this made me think of society: how we just gloss over the faults- bury them with fake pleasures, so as to not see that which we don't want to bother trying to fix.

Nice poem =)!

Thank you, good to see you got the poem. The 'double' meaning of it.
